What does Landfill Grade Comprise?

Landfill Grade is
designed to work in
two main areas of the
site operation, in the
field and in the office, getting the whole
site working together
more efficiently.

On Site

The compactor is installed with positioning and sensing instrumentation that is connected to a computer display at the operator’s station. This provides the operator with a real time update of the information needed to perform a number of critical operations in a user friendly graphical visual interface. The operator is always aware of compaction and where the compactor is relative to the landfill cell. This data is relayed to the site office and to other compactors so each operator can view ccumulated compaction and the location of other machines eliminating redundant compaction passes.

The compactor has the following components installed :

The control box provides system control and operator information and is mounted in a suitable position within sight and reach of the operator.
The GNSS receiver is mounted inside the cab and relays the 3D position information to the control box. GNSS receiver connects to the antenna which is mounted externally to receive the satellite GPS / GNSS data.
Dual axis sensor is mounted on the machine body and provides the control box with precise pitch and roll data of the compactor enabling an accurate elevation to be calculated when combined with the GNSS data.
A radio modem is used to transmit the data to the site office.
UOA’s refer to the software options enabled within the system to provide full landfill grade support.

Site Office

The site office has the Landfill Grade software installed and via radio modem network receives the machine information. The software will process the received data giving the complete audit data package required to manage and monitor the site on a day to day basis. This information package includes the ability to generate daily density reports, efficiency reports, work area reports, daily coverage reports and idle time reports all readily available for any time period, day, week, month or year.

Information from more than one machine can be receive and processed and conversely new instructions and site layout can be sent from the site office to the machines all in real time giving complete command and control of onsite activity. With 3D playback also available this gives the user unprecedented progress, productivity and compaction analysis.

Reporting formats :
Data can be reported in a wide range of formats as shown in some of the following examples (note the example show US imperial units, these of course can be changed to metric for European installations during the system set-up and calibration procedure)
